The People Behind the Process
Two builders.
One standard.
01 / Why ClearBuild Exists
We've redefined the home-building experience
to ensure you love the process as much as the final result.
That's not inevitable. It's the result of builders who operate on instinct instead of systems — who treat communication as optional and accountability as an afterthought. ClearBuild Texas was built specifically to eliminate that experience.
Michael Gularte and Grant Woodruff founded ClearBuild on a shared conviction: that building your home should be one of the best experiences of your life — not one of the most stressful. That conviction isn't a tagline. It's the reason every process, every contract, and every client interaction is designed the way it is.
Between them, they bring over three decades of combined field experience — Michael in construction execution and field operations, Grant in financial discipline and business development. That depth is baked into every system, process, and decision that protects a ClearBuild client from first conversation to final walkthrough.
02 / The Builder
Michael Gularte
Co-Founder · Field Operations & Build Execution
Michael didn't learn construction from a classroom. He started at 16, running a custom fence and ironworks business in San Antonio — learning early that the quality of a finished product is entirely a function of the discipline behind it.
He spent years in Houston advancing through the ranks of a leading custom home builder — from Project Manager to Vice President of Construction — overseeing teams, building training programs, and learning exactly what separates a builder clients trust from one they regret hiring.
When he returned to the Texas Hill Country to build ClearBuild, he brought that institutional knowledge with him — and turned it into a system. Not a philosophy. A system. One that runs the same way on every project, for every client, regardless of budget or scope.
Michael is on every build. That's not a promise — it's how he's always operated.

03 / The Operator
Grant Woodruff
Co-Founder · Business Development, Finance & Client Relations
Grant grew up in Houston, in a family with deep roots in the building trades. Construction wasn't an industry he discovered — it was the world he was raised in. He spent his summers in high school working across trades, not as a resume line, but because he genuinely wanted to understand how things were built and why they sometimes weren't.
After earning his degree from Baylor University, Grant worked in ready-mix concrete and large-scale development — earthworks, paving, infrastructure — roles that demanded precision planning and financial discipline at a scale most builders never encounter. He learned what it means to manage complexity without losing control of the details.
What drives Grant isn't the transaction. It's the outcome. He believes that a client who feels protected, informed, and respected throughout their build becomes a client who refers everyone they know. That belief shapes every contract, every conversation, and every financial structure ClearBuild puts in front of a client.
Grant leads ClearBuild's client relationships, business development, and financial operations — ensuring that the trust built in the field is matched by the clarity and integrity of every business interaction.

04 / What We Stand For
The principles that
don't bend.
Clarity
Every cost, every decision, every timeline — communicated before you have to ask. Transparency isn't a feature. It's the foundation.
Precision
We build to spec, on schedule, without shortcuts. Every subcontractor we bring on is held to the same standard we hold ourselves.
Integrity
Open-book cost-plus. No change-order games. No hidden markups. Every invoice visible, every allowance reconciled — and we stand behind the number.
Craft
We take pride in the details most builders skip. The finish is the first thing you see every morning in your home. It should be right.
Let's build something
worth keeping.
Start with a conversation. Tell us about your land and your vision. No pressure, no obligation — just clarity on what's possible.
